In next week's
Forward, out next Friday the 30th, I review the current exhibit at Spertus on Jewish Modernist Artists, focusing on the theme of reinvention that I saw in the artwork and also in Spertus itself. The exhibit is vibrant and fascinating. Yet,
as I write in the review, while looking at the pieces I felt like Owen Wilson in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, wanting to disappear into a forever lost Chicago world of Yiddishkeit.
